Educational Requirements

The entry-level requirement for intake, investigations and permanency planning workers is a bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or family studies from an accredited college/university.

The entry-level requirement for placement workers is a bachelor's degree in social work.

The entry-level requirement for I-HS practitioners is a master's degree in social work, guidance and counseling, psychology, or criminology.

State licensure is required for some Protective Services worker positions.
